Recommendations for Taking Measurements in the Shower Area

Accurate measurements are vital for a successful shower enclosure installation. This guide provides detailed recommendations for measuring your shower area to ensure the best fit and performance. Follow these instructions closely to achieve precise results and consult our technical information pages for further details on tiled dimensions and installation standards.

Measurements:

All measurements must be taken in millimeters (mm).

Viewpoint:

The installation sketch is always viewed from the outside. Click here to see the classification of left and right.

Timing:

Measurements must be taken after tiles are laid.

Recess Measurement:

The recess measurement denotes the dimensions by which a shower enclosure is inserted into or removed from the tub rim to improve watertightness. For mounting onto shower tray, the recess measurement (7-25 mm, depending on the product) is automatically taken into consideration during manufacturing.

Flat Ground Installation and Standard Order Dimensions:

When installing on flat ground, the shower enclosure is mounted directly on the tiled floor without a shower tray.

For standard orders, the actual dimensions of the shower enclosure are smaller than the ordered dimensions due to the above described recess measurement. For example, a SWING-LINE swing door with side panel ordered at 900 x 900 mm will have actual dimensions of 870 x 870 mm. Refer to the tables with tiled dimensions on the technical information pages of each series for standard orders.

How to Measure the Shower Area

In a Niche

Measure Width: Take measurements at various heights to ensure accuracy.

Verify Wall Alignment: Check that the walls are vertical and record any deviations.

Check Level: Ensure the shower tray (or floor) is level and note any discrepancies.
